Chicane/Weather Clarification

Hi all, I ran into a very interesting problem that I don't think has been clarified in the rules - I posted the question in Reddit and it got two responses saying the opposite thing, both with the same number of upvotes

The rules clarification comes from when weather conditions affecting a sector begin and end in chicanes. The rules clearly state that any sector effects drawn for a chicane go into effect after the second corner, but it doesn't explicitly state that the previous sector effects END with the first corner. I raced with weather conditions being in place both before and after the chicane; the weather is cloudy, so the weather effect is no cooling down. However, BGA allowed me to cool down 1 in the middle of the chicane for being in 2nd gear.

Having the middle part of the chicane be a dead zone unaffected by track conditions seems to go against the spirit of the rules, but it would seem to be within the rules of what's been written. What do you think? Should sector effects extend to the second corner of a chicane if the chicane is bookended by sector effects?

The base game rules saying:
"If the token shows an arrow, it modifies the next sector (all spaces between this and the next corner)."

So for me clearly from corner begin straight to first corner of the chicane.

As the rules in heavy rain or tunnel vision nothing says to do anything different in a chicane sector, for me fully clear that the zone within chicane has no weather effect in your example.

The implementation is correct. The based advanced rulebook tells you to draw 1 road condition token per corner, the expansion rulebooks tell you to draw 1 road condition token for a chicane (thus treating a chicane as 1 corner for this purpose). The base advanced rulebook says if the road condition token shows an arrow it modifies the next sector (all spaces between this and the next corner), ie. up to the 1st corner of a chicane, and the expansion rulebooks tell you sector road conditions modify the sector after the chicane. This is pretty clear therefore that the area between the two corners of a chicane is unaffected by any of the sector road condition tokens.
