Hi all,

during the maintenance today I was shown a page that suggested I could check out BGA's X page for updates. I did not realise That BGA was still active on that more than problematic network. What keep's you there? The hate speech? The outright holocaust denial?

As I long time BGA user and Premium member I would appreciate if you could close that account and move on to less problematic alternatives (mastodon, bluesky ... ).

More people still use twitter over the alternatives.

I saw that message too, and I clicked to their twitter where I saw that they actually haven't posted there in years. Of course there was nothing about the outage.

I agree that they should avoid twitter, it is a toxic stew of bots and propaganda and rumors and awfulness. But it seems that in fact they _do_ avoid twitter, so what they should do is stop pretending to use it, pick some other social media where they really will post updates, and link that here instead of linking to twitter.

"More people still use twitter over the alternatives" is irrelevant. Whatever they choose to link to from this site is what people will look at, and it doesn't matter how widely used that platform is for other things.

Somebody said something wrong on the internet.

Why would they be relevant to BGA? I don't get it, please explain.

Well I guess we won’t all agree on Twitter, but maybe we can agree on what Cos- said: It doesn’t make any sense that BGA points us to Twitter for updates on the current technical issues when their last post is from 2023. In effect, they have abandoned their account, they just forgot to remove the reference.

In case this isn't faux confusion, the point is about "canceling" (boycotting) Twitter/X. It has nothing to do with board games.

No reason to leave X, it's the best way to communicate with an international audience.

Maybe you all were taken to the wrong Twitter profile, but @BoardGameArena posted 4 times yesterday alone, and there are at least another 15 posts this month.
