Formula Meeple

Greetings!

I'm seeking interest/feedback. I've had a bit of a wild thought, even if perhaps not original, that it would be fun to have a multi-game tournament, where different games are played, with results tracked over time to determine an overall winner. Think, Formula 1 for board games. The top 10 finishers in each tournament earn championship points, and the player with the most championship points at the end of the season wins.

While there are many ways to theme this, I'm thinking of Spiel des Jahres winners (non-co-op, of course) on the site. They're classic, span many play styles, and most of us are familiar with them. I'm thinking these would be turn-based, not real-time games.

What thoughts do you have on this? What settings make sense for this kind of venture?

I really like the idea. The championship could last for three months (like Arena) and then the games could be changed. There is a European boardgamechampionship where you have to play four games out of four different categories: family, strategy, luck and card, that might also be an idea for the championship you suggest.
