Still buying more Games ?

More games unplayed due to the ease of playing it on BGA instead?

Lazier to Gather real players to play a real life game since BGA is at a click of a button away?

Still the same as before?

Not buying as much board games as before as BGA is releasing games at quite a rapid pace now?

I have bought quite a few games after testing them out on BGA. Most for myself, some as a gift. Other than that, it hasn't really influenced my physical boardgaming.

I definitely have been introduced to new games on BGA that I have then bought. Also, I consider it a plus that if the game is on BGA, I can practice / play it more and then teach / play it better in person. There are a few members of one of my game groups that feels the same way - in fact, one player will often ask first thing if the new game that we are learning is on BGA because he also likes to practice playing it online.

There are also games I'd rather play on bga than IRL. Castles of Burgundy and your yellow tiles, I'm looking at you.

One thing I’ve noticed from doing some BGA playing where everyone is in the same room, is that we tend to talk a lot less. I don’t know if it’s because BGA takes care of all the actual mechanics, or whether it’s that play goes faster because of said mechanics, or whether it’s that we’re all staring at screens instead of each other and a board…

But whatever the reason, I don’t find it an adequate substitute for real board games, because it ends up feeling much less social.

So I do not expect BGA to change my board game habits all that much. I’ll know about more games and have a better idea of which ones I want, but it’s not gonna stop me buying games.

Playing on Bga has really stimulated my board game buying. The games I love on here I often buy for real. I have so many board games now I find playing on here helps me remember the rules. There are certain games I will rarely play on here because I prefer the real game experience. (Ark Nova, pandemic, photosynthesis for example ) I don't play real time so some of the awareness of moves is lost. At a guess I bought over 30 games as a result of discovering Bga and playing games here. Some I have bought and the spotted they are on here to.

If anything, BGA has me playing more than before and I am still buying games...
