Flexible game to select random mode?

Hey all,

playing with someone regularly, wondering why he only always plays the basic game, we just came to the following conclusion:

If two players are matched that look for an automatic match, both with no mode filters applied, it only always opens a basic table.

It would be much more fun if the opened table were set up randomly, from all options not filtered away.

What do you think?

And is that actually a Hanabi issue, or would it be a BGA-wide suggestion?

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand you correctly.
Does that mean that if you don't choose any filters, you always join a basic-mode table?
I guess it's because there are a lot more basic mode tables looking for players.

You should use manual matching; then you can choose your table and get more options. You can even create your own table with your preferred settings.

Regarding the random settings selection, you're right; this is BGA's responsibility. All matchmaking is handled globally.
Hanabi just provides a list of all the available options/modes, and then it's up to BGA.

You can open a suggestion (on the suggestion/bug page) to propose this and get some votes. Maybe such a suggestion already exists?
