aquarium rule vs. glitch

I believed I was able to play a shark that required 4 aquarium slots and was bordering a rock. I had a 2-piece small aquarium and the underwater tunnel all available for a total of 4 slots. The 2 piece small aquarium was bordering a rock hex. The system did not allow me to make the move. I had plenty of money and my Animals card had been upgraded. Curious if this is a rule I am misunderstanding or if this should have been a legal move.

The rules state that when you split an animal between the two aquariums and it has a rock requirement, both aquariums have to be an adjacent to a rock. I guess the same is true for the tunnel as a special building. This situation isn’t specifically mentioned, but it makes sense to treat both cases alike.

If the animal is split in half,it's probably dead,so then why would it care about being next to rocks ? :D

I did not know the rules stated both aquariums had to be adjacent to a rock hex when splitting a sea animal. Thanks!
