Multiple fauna objectives with insufficient seeds

I have not encountered the following scenario in a real game as I was actively avoiding it due to the ambiguity of the rules hence I was curious about what happens when the following scenario occurs:

To make the scenario simple let's assume I converted 4 of my 5 leaves to seeds at the start of the game and only have 1 leaf left
  • If I meet 2 fauna objectives in a single action which objective does the leaf end up on ?
    • This is a single action (not turn) so both the objectives were fulfilled by the same action and neither was the first one to be completed
    • If we had a choice I would want to place in the objective my opponent hasn't already placed their leaf on
    • I would also want to place the leaf it in the objective my opponent is more likely to achieve later so that they get 4 fewer points when they place their leaf
  • The abundance rulebook (https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/2917 ... e-rulebook) doesn't talk about the leaf automatically being placed when we meet a fauna objective. Not sure if the use of the word "claim" in "claim Fauna objectives" suggests that this could be optional and we can choose not to place our leaf when we meet an objective
  • If I meet a fauna objective along with tableau completion objective in a single action I have noticed that it prefers the fauna objective first
    • Tableau completion would be my preference in a 2 player game as it reduces 11 pts from my opponent
In short, I'm curious about what the behavior is in the scenario from the first bullet point in the BGA implementation and is this a decision taken by the game dev due to the ambiguity or do the same rules apply over the board ?

That is a good question.

So, for example, with only one leaf left, you plant a single card that meets two or more of the fauna goals with that one card. In that situation, I believe we are supposed to be able to choose where we place our leaf. I believe I read that in a thread on BGG.

In the case of simultaneously meeting a Fauna objective and completing your tableau but you have only one leaf, I still believe we should have the option - but I'm not sure whether this implementation works that way.
Regardless, if you complete your tableau but do not place a leaf on the 11-point completion space, your opponent cannot claim that space even if the opponent also completes the tableau later and has a leaf to use.
(This had been handled incorrectly here in the past, but the developer here fixed this very recently. The tableau bonus, as per official ruling, can only be claimed by the person who actually does it first. If that person has no leaf, the bonus will go unclaimed by anyone.)

See https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/341983 ... ring-the-g . The player has a choice to decide where to put the leaf. See also this topic https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42302.
