If you win a game by 1, do you earn the same number of points as when you win by more than 1? Or are the points awarded solely determined by the ranking of each player?

If you mean elo or Arena points, they're unaffected by the score difference. Only the final result (win/tie/lose) matters.

More specifically, ELO increases more if you beat a player with higher ELO than you, and increases less if they have lower ELO. Same in reverse if you lose.

Also as example, if you come 2nd in a 4 player game, it's considered a loss to the first place players ELO, however you win against the remaining 2 players.. so depending on their ELO, coming 2nd place, or even 3rd in a 4 player game can still increase your ELO, it all depends on the difference between yours and the other players ELO scores.

You can't lose ELO when you have less than 100 ELO, and once you hit 100, you will not go lower no matter how many times you lose.

Another note, playing and beating/losing against the same player back to back over and over has less effect on ELO score movement.
