Curious, some games in Alpha appear to also be fully released

I see a lot of games in Alpha that were recently released for GA. How can I review what the differences are between the two versions? Is there a purpose to having the same game in GA and Alpha? Is it used for quality control and bug fixes?

There are some games which are fully released but still have an expansion in alpha.
That´s probably what you are seeing.

Any examples? What are those "a lot of games"? Could you please name them?

One example (if I recall correctly) is A Feast for Odin. The Norwegians expansion is in alpha but the base game is fully released.

Another example would be Ark Nova with its multiple expansions. Ark Nova still showed up in Alpha even after Marine Worlds was fully released and even when there weren't any new features being reviewed in Alpha, but then Map Pack 2 options came out in Alpha so it made sense for the game to still be listed there.
