Board Game Arena

Hi I am curious to know why someone would concede a game? I understand, maybe the doorbell or a phone rings halfway through perhaps, but why do it at the very end, as has just happened to me, when the scores were just about to be added up?

The same happened to me a couple of days ago and I‘m sure, I was losing. So that made no sense at all for the other person to give up the game.
