People Who Dislike Players After Losing

Board Game Arena (BGA) is a place where people come together to enjoy games such as chess in a friendly and respectful environment. While most players understand this, some may feel discouraged or frustrated after losing a game and react by disliking the player who won.
In my experience, I played a game of chess and won. After the match, the other player appeared to dislike me. Later, when I wanted to play with them again, I was unable to do so because they had marked me as disliked. This was a little disappointing, as my goal was simply to enjoy the game and play fairly.

And then the site writes: 10% of your opponents are unhappy with you, we'll draw a red line for you
Yes, I would like even more opponents to be unhappy with me

I play games to enjoy them and win. Unless it's a real life situation, I don't care about the "experience" of playing against another person online. We are almost all anonymous people to each other. Doesn't mean I'll be rude to someone. But if I lose a game, I'm not going to be happy about it and probably wouldn't want to play with that person for a little while.

I understand that losing can be frustrating, and taking a break is fair. That said, being marked as disliked simply for winning feels unnecessary and discouraging.I just felt a bit disappointed because my intention was simply to enjoy a fair game, not to upset anyone or create bad feelings.

Don't take a red thumb personally. It doesn't mean dislike. It just means they prefer not to play with you, for whatever reason. Maybe you're too good and they don't enjoy the game, or you're too slow, or too fast, or your username reminds them of someone they hate, or you avatar makes them dizzy, or they won and want to avoid the consecutive wins "penalty"...

Your karma doesn't go down. They removed that effect of red thumbs long time ago, unless they put it back. At most you'll see a message in your profile that's only visible to you.

Do you play boardgames with friends in real life ? Aren't they too scared? It must be something
