Fun fact: The Norwegian version from 1996

I have the Norwegian version of this game from 1996, and the box simply states "The Settlers". No mentioning of Catan. This version seems to have been produced in Denmark. The text on the box is in Norwegian.
I wonder if that was the reason they had to remove "Settlers" from their name eventually ("The Settlers" was a computer game from 1993 if you didn't know).
There are a number of differences to the later production runs of the "Catan" game, but gameplay is the same. For one thing the resource cards are made of thin cardboard. My expansion "Knights and Cities" has cards made of plastic, so they don't mix very well during gameplay. The metropolis plastic addons are also a little high for the original wooden city pieces. I am thinking of 3D printing some new ones that would fit better.
