Congratulations to all participants and winners from Season 23!
 
What exactly is "the Arena?"
The Arena is the competitive mode on BGA. If you master a game and want to play it competitively, this is THE mode to use, so you can challenge the best players and get the most experience points.
 
The Arena is organized in seasons of 3 months each. Achievements are awarded to the best players at the end of each season.
 
To play in the Arena: select "Play" and then choose "Arena" instead of "Simple game."

In the previous seasons the gurus chose the game formats for the Arena: player number, options used, ...
We are very happy to see that this way of doing things contributed to making the Arena more popular: thank you to all gurus for their smart suggestions and their votes!
 
Rules updates
No Arena rules are changing this season. It does not mean we are 100% satisfied with how the Arena is running, but you seem to appreciate the current rules, so we want to keep them as they are for now. Find out more here.
 
Season 24 is NOW Launched.
The new Arena is now open for its new season.
 
Some Explanation About: Relegations
At the end of each season, after winners have been awarded, you are relegated.
League relegation is determined by the number of Arena leagues available for each game:

• For games with 6 leagues: Elite players are demoted to Gold, Diamond players to Silver, and everyone else to Bronze.
• For games with 5 or 4 leagues: Elite players are demoted to Silver, and everyone else to Bronze.
• For games with 3 or 2 leagues: Everyone is demoted to Bronze.

 
Note that some games might not follow these relegation rules, as we might have decided to adjust the number of leagues in between seasons.

This continues to go un-awarded. Numerous posts, relevant bug reports, why has this not been corrected yet?

Why hasn't this been fixed, other games have flagged when trophies were not awarded and you adjusted. Please correct this.

This is not the answer to our requests. The general rules for Arena are not changing. But individual games will have different Arena settings this season. BGA has not changed the general rules for Arena in many seasons. But individual games have changes, which are decided by the gurus. Those individual changes are what are missing from the message and what we are requesting.

Thank you for your feedback. It has now been updated and changes to Arena 24 added.

Please note that Real-Time Arena tables, unlike for other play modes, do not ask for confirmation before starting. For this reason, if you have selected Real-Time and joined the queue for an Arena table, but need to step away from your computer momentarily, you should first cancel your game request. This avoids entering a game unknowingly and risk incurring in a Clock Penalty. Similarily, you should also avoid switching browser tab or suspending your mobile device, as that could cause you to miss the game start notification.

Hi, this is still on your FAQ Arena page, although RT Arena has been updated so that games don't immediately start without confirmation from everyone. Should this be changed?

Without linking to the exact new post, it's very difficult to actually find where last season's changes end and the current season begins. And this is with only 2 seasons being represented there. If you continue to use the same thread every season this is going to become unreadable. Please see if you can either, 1- continue to post changes in the season announcement instead. 2- link to the specific post. 3- collapse previous season posts so only 1 line is visible and you need to click if you want to expand.
