If you play in a tournament, how soon after the tournament starts do you have to play? Because I'm looking at the Can't Stop tournament, but it starts at 4am my time, and I can't play until at least 10am. I only want to sign up if it won't slow the whole thing down.

Basically you have to play as soon tournament starts.
When tournament starts players are paired and are expected at the table. If one of the players doesn't show up during couple of minutes since tournament start then other player wins.
I don't remember exact timeout but I believe it's somewhere in range of 5-15 mins.
Some games (like RftG) have separate tournaments for Europe and Americas to accommodate time differences. I'm not sure if it's also true for Can't stop.

Thanks for the info.
And no, all the games I play don't have European tournaments, only US ones.

You have to be there after 5 minutes. So if you signed up you would lose your first (and only) game unchallenged
