I realized when activating the ability of the beggar, i don't gain keys per green blazon. Did this happen to anybody else?

Are you sure you're speaking about the shields on the cards you removed, as the expansion rules says?

Thanks for making me aware, i looked at the symbol description for the expansion before but somehow overlooked the part where the symbols need to match discarded cards.

About this card, don't you feel like it is way too underused compared to the other cards? (and notably the other expansion cards)

I think I've only played it once in total. Granted, I haven't played that many expansion games, but still, it feels the conditions where the card works are too rare. Either you have to take a huge risk by picking it in the beginning and risking losing the points of the card, or you have to luck out and happen to run into it in the end when you haven't turned any card yet and you have enough money to buy it.

It's a very interesting card but it seems you don't get to play it very often.

I'd say the opposite; it seems quite easy to get it to score if you focus on it. A few times I tried to force an opponent with it to flip a card by leaving nothing affordable, but it never worked and didn't seem worth it. For comparison, getting a 21-point Brigand is not super-common but also not super-rare, and scoring King of Beggars is significantly easier than that because you're allowed to take castle cards. The fact that it gives you an extra row flush also helps a lot.

How is it easy? You only have 15 gold to start with, the odds that you are going to have to flip a card at some point are extremely high. Your money is going to run down, and the moment you aren't able to buy any of the cards available to you, you'll have no choice but to flip one. That's bound to happen unless you are lucky enough to keep running into cards that give you money.

The difference with Brigand is that you can choose to only get 14 points from it. If it was 21 points or nothing, it would be an extremely risky card that people would almost never pick.

The things you say help but I still think it's crazy to pick the card in the beginning. I pulled it off in the game where I did it, and even ended up doing 110 points, but that's because I got lucky and got all the right cards. I wouldn't attempt it again.
