Board Game Arena

I'm only playing solo for now but this has happened several times and I keep conceding because I can't continue after that. I have told myself a few times it's me miscounting or some game rule that I just haven't read yet but idk. Can someone help explain?

EDIT: My brain apparently shut off during the part in the rules where the level of your medal can dictate your overrun number (bronze means you get overrun by 2 instead of 3). Will leave post up in case anyone else has the same question.

Yeah, this is the trap behind forming an allegiance with only 2 cards. It's a cheap way to get an allegiance ability and a medal, but you leave yourself open to more threat of being overrun.

On the other hand...waiting for have 4 cards before you March gives you exactly the opposite effect, essentially an extra defense for that clan, as well as a gold medal worth more points.
