For my personal study, I started to read and compile stategies, concepts and tactics about Tigris and Euphrates.
The first and best is thourough and a longer read, but I would risk saying essential if you want to learn faster how to become better.

A second one has very interesting ideas and things not to do.

This one is an annotated and commented game. Since it is very long, If you want just the strategy and do not mind losing some details, I suggest you that, for each move, you just read the prediction before the picture of the board, and then read what the player actually played and the comments on it just following. Basically, find the next board picture, and read the paragraph before and after.

I would like to thank them for sharing such detailed strategies!
Do you know of other good guides for Tigris & Euphrates? Post them in the comments please!
There are some more gems of wisdom here, but I think the have been covered in the first topic

And here I present some of my personal ideas as the learning player. I am trying not to repeat anything I have seen in the two articles above.
One move, but with as many purposes as possible
Example: Instead of placing one temple tile to get 1 religion point, move (or even better, place from your hand) a priest leader so as to create a revolt and get 1 point plus remove your opponent. In one move, you place a leader, remove an enemy and get one point. Specially good when moving into a kingdom with more red tiles than your previous kingdom, since then you become stronger for wars.
Of course, so much is actually happening in one turn. Hypothetically, by placing one temple tile you could, at the same time, have all this happening:
+1 religion point
+1 more defense in case of an upcoming war
+1 defense in case of a revolt if besides your leaders
+1 place for your leader on your next action (or enemy leaders: note how it could be used as a trap if your hand is full of temple tiles!)
chance for collecting a colour other than red when you redraw at the end of your round (if you need that)
give the impression you have many religion tiles in your hand and want to spend them (this is on the bluff region, of course)
move towards building a red monument
getting close to a treasure
bringing the game to an end (either from lack of treasures or tiles – note that placing a cadastrophe or moving or placing a leader without revolt would lengthen the game if compared to placing a tile – could make a difference on the last rounds)
This is an idea I borrowed from chess. If each of your turns is worth 10% more than your opponnents’, in a few rounds you will be hard to beat in many ways because everything is working for you.
Stashing for defense or attack
If you want to have some defense against revolts and wars (or use revolts as a trap to get one religion point outside your turn – maybe leave an open temple for others to join, only to be zzzzaaaappped by your hand tiles) for a few rounds place tiles of the three colours other than the one you want to stash. Of course, as long as it makes also sense getting points like that. So it is a double strategy. Build your hand while doing something else on the board. A hand with 4-5-6 tiles of one colour also statistically means your opponnents have a slightly smaller chance of having that colour of tile in their hands. If you decide you no longer need them, they can be all used in one turn offensively with a revolt or war with a high chance of victory.
Religion points
Keep an eye on religion points, as usually you do not get so many from winning a war (those supporting leaders are not removed), and revolts will only give you one point while spending many tiles from your hand. It can be hard to get many red points at the end of the game to balance your score! When doing a big war with multiple leaders, see if you can first win the wars of other colours first, so their temples can then be removed with the religion war.
