Is there a way to save a tutorial when you are halfway through the playthrough?
I don't think so, but I ask in case it's there and I missed it.

Not to my knowledge. There's not even a way to go back a step if you mess up (or accidentally click past a box) - you have to quit the tutorial and start over.

You can. leave the window open and come back to where you left off.
