The game shouldn't end at 6 pilis. The rules says the first player to reach 7 ends the game.

In the physical ATG version of the game, the rulebook states that it’s 6 pilis.

There seem to be different versions of the rules. On BGG, there is a PDF of the rules in 6 languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch) in which the game ends after 6 Pilis. And here on BGA, there is a link to the rules in 3 languages (French, Spanish, Italian) in which the game ends after 7 Pilis.

As I already wrote, it depends on which version of the rulebook you own. There are rulebooks that say 6 and others that say 7. That's why it confuses some players.
