Ok, I’ll bite: what are you talking about?? You’re gonna have to provide more details as to what you think should happen.

It, in the physical copy, will let you get, say, 1 card for 2 cards. However, on bga, it does not. It does not let you play the card if you do not have 2 cards in hand

The requirement for playing eggplant is that you have an artichoke in your hand. If you don't, you can't play it.
You can trade away zero or one card and get two. If that really doesn't work, file a bug report, please, with a table and move where the play was not possible.
