Opponent quit but no leave penalty.

My opponent quit the game on the last turn when he knew he was going to lose but did not get a penalty for leaving. The game was Elo rated. Why did he not receive a penalty? The game was Stone Age #11015692 and the opponent was marcel44. I don't want to tattle on people but I feel like people should get a penalty for behaving as he did.
Thanks.

Yeah Marcel44 does that a lot as does WinPlayer.
Not sure how they avoid the penalty. Tried to complain once that it destroyed the ELO ranking but nothing was done in response. Not sure what to do.

This case is very interesting, i suppose Marcel44 found a trick, he should have got negative points as ELO is on.
http://fr.boardgamearena.com/#!table?table=11015692
Marcel44 has 44% of red thumbs after almost 400 games, i don't know why admins don't delete such profiles.
In my opinion, player profiles with :
- at least 30% of red thumbs after 100 games,
- or at least 50% of red thumbs after 10 games,
should be automatically deleted because it definitely kills the website
I often complain on the forum that cheaters are encouraged and never punished, this is an excellent example of what i always say.

Or you could, I don't know, not play in games where they are in the lobby?
Problem solved, right?

Unfortunately, on turn-based games, anyone (including those you have personally given a red thumb to) can join a game where you are, and the game starts automatically when there are enough players.

My apologies then, I did not realise this was the case.
Sorry for the post.

Not if you restrict your game, so people with more than 10/20% red thumbs can't join it.

You are 100% right, this reduces risks, but this does not solve the problem at all.
The reason why Marcel44 got no ELO penalty and no leave penalty is still unclear.
This case could potentially happen with players having less than 10% or 20% of red thumbs.
magicmoose66, did you write a report ? What did moderators answer ?

The exactly same thing just happened to me, stone age game, opponent leaving the last move of the game... the game finished, and he didn't received the penalty for leaving.
The game is the #11151744, and I found the the last round is EXACTLY the same.
In the one signaled by magicmoose
marcel44 non nutre le sue persone e prende una penalità di 10 punti
magicmoose66 diviene il primo giocatore
Carte civilta' terminate: fine della partita.
In the game I just finished
xsx non nutre le sue persone e prende una penalità di 10 punti
xsx diviene il primo giocatore
Una pila degli edifici è vuota. Fine del gioco
Maybe it's a stone age bug unknown 'til now ?

Here is the same bug happening at JML table. I think I've seen it once more in a different game, but can't find the particular game now.
