why can I only play 2-person games now?

I just joined this site a couple of weeks ago, but until Saturday I was able to play games with any number of people. Now I can only play 2-person games and there's no option to change the number.

You probably switched over to arena mode (which has set options for each season). If you change it back to simple game, you should have all of your options back.
