Hey, That’s My Fish! Fish are Food, Not Friends!

The ice is breaking up! Grab all the fish you can before they slip away. If you don’t, another penguin will.
Today, we are welcoming a modern classic, winner of several awards and recommend for many others:
Hey, That’s My Fish! is making its way to Board Game Arena.
The rules are incredibly simple: move a penguin in a straight line and collect the tile you started from. However, because every move
removes a piece of the board, you are constantly changing the terrain. What looks like a simple race for fish quickly turns into a high-stakes strategy game where you try to "cut off" sections of the board to create your own private island of fish.
Remember, you cannot move through or onto another penguin. And while we knew penguins cannot fly, in this game, they cannot swim either. It might be that “no swimming after a meal” rule!
Hey, That’s My Fish is famously "mean" in a fun way: one clever move can strand an opponent’s penguin on a tiny, fishless ice floe, effectively knocking them out of the area.
Don’t be fooled by the adorable waddling penguins! Beneath the icy surface lies a high stakes battle for survival. This tutorial will take you from a curious beginner to a savvy penguin commander, ready to claim every fish on the board.

We want to thank the game designers
Günter Cornett and
Alvydas Jakeliunas, as well as everyone at
Next Move Games, the game publisher, for letting us host this game on BGA. Our thanks also go to developers
tchobello and
MathCT for making it a reality on the platform.
This was your Monday release.
No fish were harmed during the making of this game but, nonetheless, take care and play fair…

This simple little game causes me more angst and AP than any other game. I love it and fear it. An isolated penguin can crush the spirit. My Penguins! My Penguins!

Had the game for years, played this as a Beta game. Quite frustrating, and harder than the physical game.
If you've played Battle Sheep, then you're not in for any surprises!!

Such a shame that you can't see the last moves (only the pieces that moved but not where they came from).
For some reason the dev didn't want to add that. So the Yucata version is much better.

I like fish(ing) and always wanted to pet a penguin...
but somehow I don't think this game will grant that wish, but I bet the penguins are cute!
Let's Play folks!

Great implementation devs! This is such a fun game, turns are fast, you can be as strategic as you want, and the it gets crazyer the more people play. Plus it has penguins which are the coolest. Already a favorite of mine. It's simple, you will understand most of it in 5 minutes.
Everyone goes for the three fish tiles first, it's a race. Then your penguins gradually become trapped on islands either by your design or by someone else's design as the tiles are consumed and create more and more empty space. When it is just you on an island, you can consume your island all in one turn which really speeds up play.

It's great to have this modern classic here, but I wish players had the option to see the position with one single graphic for each of the three tile types. As it is now, it's virtually impossible to get a strategic overview at a glance. For me, unfortunately, this means that my first game will also be the last.

The variant to push is not fun. Remove it. It destroys the game!
