Can I deactivate my account?

Basically, I want to know if it's possible to deactivate my account without actually deleting it. I don't want to lose all my accomplishments and records, I just don't want to access it. And/or if it's possible to drop my premium membership early? (I cancelled it, but it's in effect until November).
Obviously, someone is going to suggest simply not logging on. But the thing is, I don't even want the option.

This is kind of a strange request, but I don't think there is an obvious way to accomplish what you are asking.
You can take a look at this
thread where several people have had their access restricted until the year 2296. All of their Elo values have reset to 0, but it looks like their achievements and game history are still intact. I'm not sure if this is an approach you want to consider, though...

1. Change your password to a randomly generated one.
2. Destroy/forget the password.
If you don't want to even be able to reset your password, do the same with a disposable email account.

Can I ask what the endgame here is? Do you expect to come back at some point? Do you expect *not* t come back but want to leave the option open? Or do you never want to come back but want to leave the account and accomplishments as some sort of … I don’t even know what the right word would be.

The endgame is that I want the option to come back once in a while, to play with friends, etc, while still having the account and accomplishments intact. Setting my Elo values to 0 or locking myself out of the account would not accomplish that.
Alternatively, if there is a way for BGA support to simply remove my premium membership status, that would mostly accomplish the same thing for me.

If you want to be able to come back, how do you envision doing that if you're not able to login? You want to "deactivate" your account, you'd need to "reactivate" it again. How would you like to do that? By contacting BGA support? If I were BGA support I would not want to offer the option for users to call me on Monday to deactivate their account, then Tuesday to activate it back because they want to play with a friend, then on Wednesday to deactivate it again, then on Thursday to activate it because they changed their mind... (Not suggesting that's what you plan to do, but it would be possible.)
I suggest just changing your password without changing your email. When you want to "come back" you could try to use whatever "forgot my password" system is in place.

There is a matching post somewhere (a player wanted to be blocked for some time because of an addiction problem), and BGA said you could contact support for this:

Thanks! That's just what I need.
