Abandon

Hi, I have a question regarding Abandon

I played a 2 player game (Castle of Burgundy) and my clock run negative for only a few sec (for the first time of the game)

Usually when that happens it's not a big deal unless it happens several times, but when that does indeed happen your opponents would likely try to kick you out which is fair.

When an opponent try to kick you out you have 20 sec to make a move if I recall correctly. In my game that's not what happenned. as soon as my clock was negative (I did not even have time to notice it), my opponant abandonned the game but he did not concede so I did not get the win and he did not even loss elo for quiting the game on me, why is that ??

How is it possible to quit the game without your opponant agreeing to abandon collectively and not get punished for it ?

He was basicaly loosing and quit to preserve his elo I suppose as it was the first time in the game that my clock went negative and he did not even tried to kick me out he straitght up abandonned for both of us without me agreeing to it (I think I could not refuse because my clock was negative but wtf ??!!!

Have you ever been in a similar case and could you explain how is that even possible please ?

I feel robbed

Thanks

When you click the button to propose to abandon a game, all players with negative time are automatically opted in to the abandonment. In other words, if you have negative time you forfeit your ability to vote no.

I can understand in a 3 or 4 players game but for 2 players game too ?! that's messed up. I don't know how this have never been adressed before.

What's the point of the 20 sec delay when someone is trying to kick you out of the game if instead you can simply abandon as soon as their clock run negative ?

That's unfair
The dude I played knew he was fucked so he was ready to hit that Abandon button as soon as my clock went negative lol. What a terrible mindset to play the game I can't believe this is a thing, but anyway.

Thanks for the explanation I'll be mre carefull newt time.
