Hey, please help me to understad the rules. I was behined the last corner before the finish line and drafted Turbo Charger. I didn't have enough heat to pay for the effect of this card, however the game allowed me to select it. If I used it and went behind the finish line, would the game allow it or would I lose my turn?

You don't lose your turn, if you cannot pay heat for an upgrade, it instead mimics a +, so you flip cards until you reveal a basic number from your deck and it becomes that. It's on page 4 of the advanced rulebook: https://cdn.svc.asmodee.net/production- ... ressed.pdf.

You will have to pay the heat eventually (or spin out). The game lets you select cards you can't afford currently because future you might be able to generate enough heat to pay for it.

ETA: RazorOz is correct. You won't spin out directly, but you will have to deal with the heat cost eventually, and having the upgrade card turn into a boost might lead to heat costs you can't pay. Crossing the finish line doesn't change that.

The game forums for most games are pretty quiet, so posting questions here (with an appropriate title) is probably fine. In this particular case, though, the very first post in the Heat forum ("Rules Clarification about Unpayable Cards") is from the game developer talking about this exact situation and how the BGA implementation deals with it.

So, why even have separate forums? Why not just one huge list of every topic ever?

Separating threads into topics eliminates noise. There are hundreds of games on the site (in fact, we're probably into the thousands now). If every game posted their questions in general, even with an appropriate title, you'd have to scroll through pages just to find something relevant to you (who probably only plays a selection of those 1000+ games, let alone if you actually just want to discuss board gaming generally, not specifically about a game). Furthermore, forums for a game are generally frequented by people who play those games and actually know the rules. Sometimes you get lucky, as in this case, since RazorOz knows Heat really well, but sometimes the people posting on this forum have no idea about your game. Yes, game forums can be quiet, but I'm pretty sure I've always eventually got an answer to my questions there, and probably a more reliable one than posting here. In fact, a quieter the game forum probably indicates the fewer players, and less likelihood that someone who understands a game is lurking in the general forum.

Game-specific questions in the general Discussion forum are considered off topic by the moderators and get moved if they are reported.

Some game forums are quiet because they only relate to one specific game, which as nik mentioned is the whole point. That doesn't mean no one reads them.

Some games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Ark Nova have a very active forum, as in I see new posts almost every single day. It not surprisingly correlates with the overall popularity of the game. Some forums are quiet and haven't had a post in months, but there is always someone who answers a rules question.
