Set in an alternate 1920s Europe, the game takes place after a massive conflict. In the region of Europa, fallen empires are rebuilding while rival factions compete for land, resources, and power around a mysterious, abandoned city simply called “The Factory.” Massive diesel-powered mechs, once tools of war, still roam the countryside, giving the world its distinctive mix of rural calm and looming industrial strength.
What makes Scythe special is its balance. Combat exists, but it’s never the focus. In fact, fighting can hurt you if it lowers your popularity. Instead, the game rewards efficiency and smart planning as you build your economy and expand your influence.
