Tiles dropped to the floor instead of scored

Final round, I filled up the 3rd row with the last color needed to complete a row & a column. When the game was scored, the 3 tiles were dropped to the floor, and I was penalized instead of getting the points.

Obviously, the score didn't matter, I got crushed. But is this a scoring error in the game engine, or is this a ruling that I'm not aware of?

I don't see the color that you put into your 3rd row, but that one place was impossible to fill. For the row, it was missing white, but you couldn't put white there, as there was already a white piece in the same column. And for the column, it needed blue and the blue one was already in the same row. Unfortunately it's possible to block yourself like that on the gray wall, so you need to be careful not to do so

Okay. That makes sense. I'm not used to playing colorless.
