Concede option in 3 player - PLEASE

Since arena is currently 3 player, concede really REALLY needs to be an option.
It is so much timewaste for everyone, but force the player who is 100% out of the game from just whiffing all draws, to sit there and have to play it out.

It's not wasting time, it's completing a commitment you've made.
If you feel finishing a game is a waste of time, I'd wonder why you started in the first place. It's not all about winning.

Having a player drop in out a 3-player game can adversely and unfairly affect the outcome of the game.

Example: I have a brown-headed cowbird in a 30player game, and the player in third place has an obvious egg-laying engine that he will be spamming in the final round. The player in second place is very close to overtaking me for first place, and his end-game plan involved gaining food and playing high-scoring birds for bonus points and EOR goals. His plan is unaffected; but I lose out on 5 eggs because the game has continued without the 3rd place player taking the lay eggs" action 5 times in the final round.

There are many other similar examples. I could be banking on the 3rd place player obviously winning an EOR goal, but because he is gone, my other opponent wins it instead.

Many other potential similar issues could arise.

Well, the whole point about Arena is to win and climb up the ladder to be the very best (like no one ever was).

Who exactly is forcing anyone to do anything? Isn't it possible to just quit? (not concede, but actually quit), Or, is the "quit game" option also unavailable in 3-player games?

(I don't play 3-player games, so I don't know.)

That might be the point for you, but the point for me is to play games. Arena gives a consistent rule set and player counts which lets me consider strategy for that set up and tweak it from game to game.

Sure winning is nice, but it isn't the point. The point is to play and that means finishing out games even when I'm not winning.

Definitely. It allows everyone to not play a useless game occasionally. The software should be smarter though and allow you to lose if you concede..well your score is what you have played so far, but allows the raining two players to finish the game normally. Your score is still calculated at the end. Same should happen if disconnected and can’t get back in..one just gets that score. The final player can op to finish still and all scored on result the have. I am sick of being penalised as my internet drops or slows or is non responsive especially when winning by a long way..and the other player ejecting me…I do not eject them if I can see them attempting to play. No reason awell fought two handed game can’t be finished. Conceding or dropping out should not be penalised, just the score at the end means you have had Les turns. No one should be able to eject someone, they maybe able to make them skips one or more turns but they should be allowed to come back in and finish always

As Frank Jones pointed out, you can’t neatly remove one player from a 3+ player game. It wouldn’t be fair to ask the remaining players to complete a game that may have already been built around the dynamics of 3-player interactions.

IMO this is another small, practical point in favor of 2-player arena.

Though I would also suggest that a way to motivate oneself to finish in a dead lost position (I know, it sucks) is to challenge yourself to maximize your own score. Sure, someone else might be running away with it but maybe you can salvage a bad position to finish somewhat strong, and doing that is good practice for another game where pulling out such a finish may help you win.

I never quit a game. For me, personally, I would feel as though I were being a bad sport. I'm not saying everyone who does it is a bad sport. That's just how I would feel about myself.

So, can someone help me with this? I have no idea whether "quit this game" is something that can be done in a 3-player Rated game.

If it IS possible, then ... no one is being "forced" to finish the game. Just quit and take the penalty. Or, play it out.

I would really prefer if people used the word "force" in situations that involve actual force. The word carries a very strong connotation in legal, moral, and ethical discussion, and implies violence or aggression or coercion, or the threat thereof.
