IP ban threshold

Hello.

I have discovered a player on BGA that will create multiple accounts for kingmaking and abuse -
The player will cause chaos and insult people on their wall or in the game chat time and time again.

They will then close the account and create a new one to repeat the abuse,

One of their accounts is already under moderation penalties, but it seems they just have a toxic pattern that keeps going.

At what point does it become an IP ban from the site?

I can't mass report the accounts in question since a lot of them are closed by the user.

IP bans are only a permanent solution for static IP addresses, which most consumer (as opposed to business) internet accounts don't have. Some dynamic IPs can be reset as easily as by power cycling the router. Or less easily, but not hard, by changing the MAC address for the router and other techniques that are easily Googleable. Then there will be two problems: the bad actor has gotten around the IP ban and the banned address will eventually be reassigned to an innocent person who will have an unjustified ban if they happen to also be a BGA user.

Not to mention VPNing, etc.

That said, there was a BGA user who was causing havoc and regularly making new accounts over the period of a year, but I haven't heard from them in a while. It's hard to tell if they finally got bored with trolling or if BGA figured out a way to permaban them.

Thanks for your reply and those really good points!

It's really unfortunate that players like this can exist on the platform.

King-making aside, they seem to really take joy in insulting fellow players -including their ethnicity at times.

Hopefully they get bored and stop but for now, I guess there's no solution.

Cheers
