Question about penalty for overtime?

Hi! I did a search and didn't see what I was looking for-
5 days ago, I got a penalty for being out of time. It was confusing, because I check bga a minimum of 3 times a day. I just now got another one.
I haven't seen myself go into the red, and most of my games have a 24 hours turn move.
Is it possibly a glitch? I know I see a 'player not moving, skip their turn?' about 2 minutes after I move, but I assumed that was just a holdover (as I said, they have hours of thinking time) -have people just hit that for me? Have I been doing something wrong?
I'm now worried about playing games because I don't want more penalties.
Where do I go for help?

Oh, I see you played a game with play hour times (12:00 to 0:00 in your case). Those times can be misleading because when you check the time outside the game, it will count your sleeping time in your total time remaining. The time shown in the game however will show you the actual time you have left once your countdown starts going down again.
You may have looked at the time in the evening and assumed that it showed the time you'd have left once it starts counting down at midday, when actually that's not the case.

Why not look at the games? From the looks of things, you took noticeably longer than your opponents, who ended up kicking you for that large time discrepancy resulted in you going over time. The timeframe for "most of your games" does not matter, only the time frame for the games in question. The game from 5 days ago was 24 hours a day for a 15 day total, and today's game was a 24 moves a day (12-hour time bank with 30-minute increment) with playing hours listed below it.
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=820281581 The game from 5 days ago. You can see stats like thinking time (your opponent took 9 days to your 15 days.) So you were notably slower than your opponent. You can use your time as you please, but your opponent isn't obligated to provide you any extra. If we click "view game replay," we get
https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=820281581 where you can scroll down to "thinking time evolution" and click "Display thinking time in logs (above)". That will show the progression of the clocks if you want to see it move by move.
