Board Game Arena

A couple of days ago it swtiched to Friendly Mode for me, and I can't find a way to change it back. Anyone else having this problem?

I see plenty of non-friendly tables. This was probably something temporary and not related to Terraforming Mars in the least. The Terraforming Mars bug forum, therefore, is not the correct place to report this.

Since TF is the only game where it happens to me (and still does, very annoying) where should I post this bug?

Yeah same for me. Felt like I was losing my mind.

Probably the general BGA bug forum as it does not happen consistently. If you could figure out when exactly it happens (like which options, what time, how many players, etc.), the dev might be able to look into this. How often has this happened to you? Like, even if you each say 10 times, that‘s just 30 times out of the 125k games of Terraforming Mars played alone in April - that‘s 0.024% of games …

1) This was likely because of the lengthy server outage. Likely done by BGA to prevent ranked games from being time forfeits.

2) As for why it might still be happening: The newer (and poorly designed, in my opinion) method of starting games from the game page itself rather than the "play now" page might be causing the problem. Sometimes the game settings on the specific game page can get changed without our realizing, and can cause games to start with settings we did not choose or want.

It happens in EVERY Terraforming game. (with me opening the game)

As xspuipuke said, this is not related to Terraforming Mars. It happens in other games, and there are plenty of Terraforming Mars games starting in normal mode and not friendly mode.
