Replay Last Moves

So a while back we had a request for games to automatically skip the replay of last moves, and now we have a button in the game to do the replay.
But there's some problems with it. The major problem, and hopefully the one you'll agree is a problem, is that the arrows below the moves to the right that allowed us to show moves further back in the game, don't show on most games anymore. At least not the ones I know. There were some games that never had these arrows at all, but now ones which did, do not anymore, and that is definitely caused by this change. I saw it happen immediately afterwards.
So now if I ever want to go further back than my last move, the arrows aren't there anymore and I cannot do it. (This would presumably also mean not seeing any chat things, etc.) I really don't know if this was intentional, or just a by-product of taking away the auto replay. (In other words, I don't know if it's a bug. I found no report on it.)
I do have other reasons I prefer having the auto replay on, so this is not a change I liked. I asked at the time, and will repeat the question now, is it possible for this to be changed to an option we can set? So whether you want the auto replay or not, we can all pick our own option. If not, at least get the arrows back so we can play turns back further.
