I can't add comments to translations any more.

I changed an existing translation and wanted to add a comment to my change. But BGA just shows an error: "You can add a comment only on one of your own translations". It was my own translation. It seems that there is something broken.

I know this happens if you change a text back to a former version. I am not sure if I'd call this a bug, but I agree it would be better if we could comment nevertheless.
Was this your situation? If not, could you please link to the translation you made, so we can check?
I made some corrections today and were able to comment.

No, what you're describing is a different bug (one that's been around for a while, where an error message was displayed but the comment was still saved).
My issue is that when I enter a comment on my own translation (even if it’s the only translation of the text), but not immediately after the translation, I switch to another text field or even another browser tab in the meantime, and then go back to the comment field via “Previous Translations” and “Edit.”
Then I get the error message and the comment isn’t saved. I’ve since found a workaround: I just have to enter the comment multiple times; it usually works on the second or third try. But it doesn’t work the first time, and because of that, I’ve already failed to post a few comments.

I have always used another workaround: I click in the translation textbox, add a blank at the end of the text and delete it immediately. In this way I am able to add a new comment to my text.
