I already reported the bug, but nothing happens, while slowly my time runs out on several other tables. I can not load 849768184. While I can't play there I'm also blocked from playing on the other tables.

I cannot spectate, either. “upstream request timeout”, it says.

Yes exactly. Thank you for posting the link. But the worst part is, that I can not play in most of my other matches. It says I have to play first in the blocked game, which is obviously not possible.

It’s an Arena table and yes, you have to do those in order. I’m a little surprised you can’t do your non-Arena tables though. I’ve also tried loading a few other random Backgammon tables and none of them could load (got stuck at 10%, loading images) though none of them showed me the “upstream request timeout” though. It does seem like there’s a problem with Backgammon.

Unfortunately, barring a miraculous recovery, I’m afraid there’s not a lot you can do about it. My suggestion would be to quit the game. Yes, you’ll take an Elo and Arena and reputation hit. All of those are fairly easily regained (well, probably; I suppose that depends on your Elo and Arena levels), but the alternative is timing out and getting kicked from a bunch of tables because this one is blocking you.

I’d also look for bugs concerning this sort of issue and vote and comment on them with a link to this table, or (if you can’t find any) make a new one.

You do have one option. If you can't load the blocked table. You might still be able to use chat, or else contact the opponent through pm. To ask if they would propose to abandon the table. Assuming you've already timed out. You accept automatically.

Alternatively. I believe you can also quit a game from the game page (without loading the actual table. You might get a penalty for quitting a game. But the penalty isn't that bad. And at least you won't be stuck anymore.

If none of that works. You can try the same with your other active tables. Explain the situation, link this post for proof, and kindly ask if they would agree to abandon the table. It won't solve your issue, but at least you won't get as many additional losses/abandon penalties.

Finally. BGA tends to cancel any losses and/or penalties during large server/site issues. If you document the bug well and contact BGA support for help. They might at the very least cancel any losses and expell penalties you've received from this.

OP can’t load the game and I (a random spectator) can’t load the game, so it seems probable their opponent also cannot load it, so they would be unable to suggest abandonment. The only option available from the lobby page (which does load) is to quit.

This is not a large server/site issue. Expectations are extremely low on them canceling anything, even though there seems to be something broken in Backgammon.

Yes, only the arena backgammon tables are affected. I just tried to propose to abandon the tabel on one of the other tables, but even that is not possible. And I can not cancel the blocking table, because I can't reach the site at all. I don't know what's going on, but backgammon is quite unstable since they implemented the doubling cube. I guess I have to let the time run out, as no one is apparently fixing it. It's already almost two days know and I guess my bug report is also already burried as it is an individual problem.

You should be able to quit the game from here: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=849768184 As both I and Tuut Tuut is Luut said, this will cause a loss of Elo and reputation both of which should be easily regainable and this is probably better than getting kicked out of all your arena games.

Hi backgammoners!
Since yesterday I experience the same problem, I can't access to a table of a 5 points TOURNAMENT this time. So the problem is not only for arena matches.

At least I can play on other tables but I have to go to them "manually" from the table page. (otherwise it sends me to play on that blocked page) I will probably quit the tournament, if possible.
I am going to make a bug report too or thumb the one you made.
Hope this problem won't become to common because it's really anoying! (apparently it is just with backgammon.)
