After people ranked their cards, there's this showdown screen where hands are slowly revealed one at a time to be "climatic" and "build suspense"

This is terrible gameplay! Just show all player's cards next to the chips they have taken!

You can skip the animation by tabbing out.

Even then, it shows just the summary, when it would be more helpful to see the cards right next to the taken chips.

The one by one reveal is part of the game. It's fun for many players.
And it makes it much easier to see where the mistake is if any. Especially for less experienced players.

Wouldn't be a terrible idea to have a table setting option to turn it off though. For that you need to put in a suggestion here:

I enjoy the revealing. I would be sad if it gets removed.

But making it optional sounds like a good idea

i don't mind the screen, i quite enjoy it actually. i just wish it were quicker. speed up the animations by 50%.

I agree that it should be quicker.
Especially the show of the safe opening. Its shown three different times. This does not add any value.

Btw, for those wo didn't notice, request for a skip-animations option has been one of the most popular since game was released in beta.

Sadly, devs don't seem to care much about QOL or polishing here.
Some simple fixes, like removing a fully useless confirm on a round where nothing happened ( https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=213874 ), or allowing to revert back to the default BGA background for better accessibility are not implemented, so I don't have much hope anymore.

(I made a thread about QOL which ended-up compiling several issues but Ironically, BGA's latest css, makes it quite unreadable due to blank lines added everywhere )

We love the Showdown reveal, but I came here to actually complain that it is undercut by the game immediately telling us that we won or loss. It is that announcement - the immediate declaration - that kills the Showdown.

I think we should, obviously, have the choice: suspenseful Showdown for the people who love this; quick reveal for folks who find it tedious. Not BOTH, which we have now, and it which is literally the one choice where *everyone* is disappointed.
