So I really didn’t want to believe it’s true but another player pointed out to me that the -5 (Hole in one) card appears in the lower right hand corner more often than it should. I investigated this a bit more by playing 2 hotseat games against myself to verify.

In those 2 games the -5 card was amongst the 16 cards dealt 8 times. All 8 times the -5 was in the bottom right corner. One time, both players had the -5 in the bottom right corner. It’s nearly impossible even with a small sample size for it to always be in that spot and never the other cards dealt.

Essentially if you have a -5 it will be in that spot and if you don’t, you don’t have to worry about discarding it anywhere else in your grid (unless you have two -5, haven’t seen that yet).

I have seen this occur many times in my games as well vs other people. So basically just always flip your bottom right hand corner card for now.

I did submit an actual bug report for this as well.

EDIT: In my most recent game I got dealt 2 -5 twice and they were the 2 most rightmost cards on the bottom row. So it appears somehow the -5 cards are like sorted to be on the bottom. I would guess if I had a third one as well it would also be the bottom row next to the others.

This sounded easy enough to check. So I replayed the 2 most recent games where OP was not at the table.

I looked for all the instances where
* -5 was among the 2 initial flips
* -5 was flipped in place
* -5 was flipped and discarded

This happened 5 times in one game and 6 times in the other.
In all 11 cases, the position of the -5 was indeed in the lower right (or next to it when there were 2 of them), just like OP claims.
