A 2 players game of scythe is the least interesting number of players.

The problem is the unbalance between the factions

The auction is meant to deal with any balance issues.

I’d say that the problem with 3+ players is that inevitably someone will see that they cannot win and then decide to end the game in 2nd place rather than 3rd. This will often result in kingmaking.

I love 3-4 players game of Scythe, hope maybe we can try it for a few seasons. 2 player game nerf the enlist action a lot, while in multiple players game, enlist is quite a priority. I hope Scythe gurus can vote for 3 players too.

Everyone has their opinion; here on BGA I haven't played Scythe as much as I'd like but still - 2p is a preference for me. If I had a vote I'd vote 2p; I dislike the longer length and kingmaking in 3p+ maps. Of course everyone has their opinion.
