Keep AI Away From BGA

The latest survey had a question asking how interested we'd be in a new AI feature. I selected the "not at all" response... but that doesn't begin to cover it. If you roll out a new AI feature, I would not merely be uninterested; I would be furious. I suspect I am not alone in this.

This.
Came here literally to post the same thing.
I'd cancel my premium and stop using the site.

I feel the same way, though it unfortunately feels inevitable with the AI news posts already.

I did not get a survey, but I strongly agree with this.
I can't for the life of me see what I would want AI for in general, and I cannot possibly fathom why I would want to have it here. As a fake opponent? No thank you. That would be me leaving a site I have otherwise been enjoying for years.

There were a few things in that survey that worried me. The "AI coaching" is one of them. The other is the mention of three tiers:
1. Free with ads
2. "Bronze" that is ad-free
3. "Gold" that is ad-free with premium features.
This very much makes me think that they're going to start showing ads and expecting free players to sign up for a lower cost subscription to hide them.

This makes sense tbh because most of the site is used by free users which means there's no income from them.
With a bit more money maybe they can sort the servers out...

I haven’t received any survey invite, can someone share a link? Or is this only for premium members?

Agreed, it’s long been clear this place is run on less than a shoestring budget, so some way of getting new revenue is great… but it makes no sense to then turn around and throw away the new revenue on AI tokens.

I'd be furious too. If there is money and time to spend there are plenty of better ways to do that.
Are we even sure the survey is legit? In another thread someone posted the domain name of the survey and it looked rather sketchy even for a third party survey service. And it was buggy.
I, premium FWIW, did not get one and it seems to be some random subset of users.
Several weeks back they replied in a thread that they do not want AI (at least 3rd party AI slop) on BGA to one of the guys spamming the forum and them about it.

I thought I hadn't received it and found it in my "Promotions" folder in Gmail. That doesn't necessarily mean everyone got it though.
