Double star cards dominate the game

House rule of star cards are all single point grants the game more interesting decisions. You basically never want to not take double stars as the point swing is too large, this reduces the number of decision points in the game substantially.

Yeah this game could use some adjustments for the competitive side of things.

Not sure what exactly.

Stars being points and the tie breaker means whoever has more stars face down at the start of game is unlikely to win. Think the worst I've played is 3 stars to 11. Not possible to match that deficit.

I think that if you could see your own face down cards, it would add a little more strategy to the game.

I do think the tie-breaker is backwards. The real challenge to the game is getting the rows in order and all the same color (and optionally all the same parity). If you’ve tied with your opponent and they have more stars, I think that means you have done better.

I just lost a game where my opponent had 18 stars... That's more than the base board can give you.

It's all just luck ofcourse but when a few double go to the same person it's just over.

I agree stars can swing luck way more to your side, perhaps there need to be less 2 star cards
