Hi! I am trying to figure out if you can change the appearance of the backgammon board? There is a link to a previously played game with a green field and red/white checkers.

Yes.

Click on "Setup," then select "Theme" to pick from 4 choices.
I think you're looking for the "Classic" theme.

Yes you can. It's an in-game personal preference "Theme", not set on the in-game options. So there's nothing to stop two players having different themes, or you changing the theme part way through a game.
