One thing I've noticed in Dozito is that some players seem more focused on simply finishing with a higher score than actually building meaningful combinations. They'll play very quickly, grabbing small combinations whenever possible, even if it results in a very low final score and a board filled with scattered, disconnected cards. Of course, everyone is free to play however they want, but sometimes it feels less like they're trying to create an interesting strategy and more like they're just rushing to end the game as soon as possible. For me, part of the fun of Dozito is planning larger combinations and making the board come together in a satisfying way, so these rushed games can feel a bit disappointing and almost as if the player doesn't really want to be playing in the first place.

Usually people play games to win. If rushing it gives higher winning chances, that's what you should expect to see. Blame the game designer, not the players.

If you play in friendly mode, you'll be more likely to encounter people who feel like you.

I feel it’s the opposite many times. I wish people would just end the game while ahead… like can’t you count? If you are up by like 40 in the final round with 1 card unflipped, just end it! Like why do you have to keep trying to get a larger area of a color when you are so far ahead. All you are doing is possibly letting the other person catch up. One game lasted an extra 10 or 15 minutes one time due to someone not ending it while ahead. Of course I’m not going to end it either while I’m behind as I want to win. This game is pretty luck based in general but one advantage some players have over others is knowing when to end a round or the game. So…. Yeah if I’m ahead by like 10 in a round and you could possibly get a giant area of you hit a card then I’m going to end that round as soon as possible.

I get that 100% and agree - if you’re already winning and you’re just trying to make the board perfect with one last card, sure, end it already. That’s not what my gripe is about.

I’m talking about the players with zero strategy who are making maybe 1–3 combos (less than 20 points total) while you’ve only got a couple of cards on the board. They’re just throwing any cards down that fit in random spots.

Trust me, I know it’s easy to mistake this for being a sore loser, but it’s really not about winning or losing. You win some, you lose some—that’s just how games work. I actually enjoy seeing when my opponent gets a lucky board and everything falls into place. It’s fun to watch.

What confuses me is when some players don’t even seem like they’re playing the game. After a while, it feels like they’re just mindlessly throwing cards down as fast as possible, like they’re being forced to play and just want the match over with. It genuinely doesn’t make sense to me.

Maybe it’s just my opinion, but those are my two cents. I figured I’d share in case anyone else feels the same.

I can see how that could be beneficial to those who lack good karma, it just doesn't make up for the unfairness to those trying to play a fair game - almost makes making up on karma a little ironic.

If I have 3 sets of 2 plus Dozitos, and my opponent only has a few cards total on the board, I will definitely end the round if possible. Strategy changes based on current circumstances. If the odds look to be in my favor (they could still pull a long string of playable cards and win the round), I will usually take the risk and end the round.

BGA should create one giant containment thread to collect all posts of the form "my opponent is following the rules, but I don't like it that they're playing the game that way because that's not the way I think the game should be played."

Well, the goal is simply finishing with the highest score, the combinations are just a means of accomplishing that.

It looks bad if you're claiming they're randomly throwing tiles around with no real strategy and you still lost. It those cases, consider the possibility that it might be you misunderstanding the game rather than them.

Now, if these are games you're actually winning and the players are playing badly, consider they may also not be very good at the game and aren't sure how to put those tiles together effectively. The moves may seem random because the player doesn't really have their bearings.
