I am playing a 2 player ticket to ride and opponent withdrew, but the match still shows progress at 0% and I cannot kick out since tournament has no kick option , would match just end after a certain time?

Yes, when the game reaches the maximum duration (10 days in this case), you will be counted as the winner of the match. The withdrawn player will not be scheduled in any of the next round's games.

Why do we need a link to answer a general question?

Also, the site doesn’t want us to call out players, which linking a game indirectly does.

No player is being 'called out'. Withdrawing from a game is a perfectly normal regular occurrence all across the site.

Maybe not by OP themselves, but some people may judge the player for withdrawing. I don’t think we should link to other players when the subject is something that could be considered negative.

"No kick" makes sense in a 3+ player game, because kicking a player isn't fair to the relative standing of the other 2 players.

If you're playing a 2 player game and your opponent ran out of time, you can always win by default by making no more moves and letting the clock run out.

This is why I don't use "no kick" in my two-player tournaments. If you are the type of player who would wait for a play to come back even if they are in the red, you can still do that if you want even if the option to kick is enabled. If you are the type of player who would claim the win on time by letting your clock run in the no kick setting (which is fine), then why waste time?

This is indeed an issue, but it's still good I think that an organizer has the option to say "no kick out".

Even though you may say it's useless because if a player is willing to kick someone out, presumably they'd also be willing to stall the game like you say.

But, upon seeing they aren't able to just kick out, it sends the message that the organizer doesn't wish players to kick out people in their tournament. It shows what their stand is on the issue, and it may make the player reconsider things. And if they do still decide to stall, it becomes a more glaring case of "dirty tactics" than if kick out was allowed, which therefore reflects badly on the player, rather than on the tournament and the organizer.

I think generally the no kick option is a lot more nuanced than people think, because I also see people turn it on for Heat, which imo you should never turn it on for Heat, Formula D etc. If a game is coded to always play to result this option is 100% worse than allowing players to kick, because if you turn this on you can't do anything about the player who doesn't turn up from turn 1, and the players who have had a turn already automatically lose.
