Kicker Card

It seems to me that the game does not follow the rules regarding tiebreakers using the Kicker cards. For example if two players both have a pair of 9's then the player with the highest kicker card should have the highest ranking in hand value. it seems to me that the game disregards the kicker card and marks it as a thumbs up regardless of who had the higher kicker card. It makes the game a little easier. Is it just me and am I missing something or have others noticed this? Excellent game and a really nice implementation, but I was just wondering this.

I've never noticed this and it should be reported as a bug the next time you see it.

Like in poker, you use 5 cards to do your best hand possible.
So per example:
- if on the table you got 44AJ9, then if you have 87 in your hand, you will have a pair with 44 and then need to use three others cards which will be AJ9. So you will have 44AJ9. If another player got 32, they will have 44AJ9 too. That me, than that both hands are equal.
- if on the table you got 45678, then everyone will have a straight, so even if you got 77, you will have the same ranking of anyone which don't have a 9 (or a flush).
- if you have a triple pair, you can often rank weirdly because of that rule. If on the table you got JJA94, then if your hand is 94, and river was a 9, you probably got a very high token turn, but at the river, you goes from a double pair to a 'single pair', and so could move down in purpose. You have others cases more rare like that too.

All of that mean that when you have a kicker is 2, 3 or 4, then unless you hit a pair, those three hands will be the same, so can be played the same way.

I'll have to pay closer attention, maybe that is what happened.

Your best 5 out 7 card hand is what matters. Sometimes your kicker is not in your 5 best hand.

Example: board is AT953. One player has A4 and the other has A2. Even though A4 looks better, they are actually tied because both of them have AAT95.
