Premium Color Preference

I kinda wish it was possible to set a prefered colour per game, even specifically for games where the color ties to a leader or character of sorts.
Also, I keep having this issue where Pink is set as my main color and if there is no pink it chooses red even tho my next preferences are White, Purple, and Cyan. And there will be a white option yet it choose red and stated it was my preference. I only have this issue with some board games, not all.

So you could choose white and always go first in chess? An automatic 54% win rate, on average, instead of 50%?
Or you could choose the color of the character with the best advantage in games? Automatic Ivits on every Gaia Project game?
This seems like a horrible idea.

I think the principle of charity requires that we interpret what they said in a rational way and from context they aren't actually proposing that you would get whatever asymmetric power may be associated with a color in the game, just that you would see yourself in whatever color you want even though everyone else sees you as what you are supposed to be. Even then, there is an issue. If you want to be seen as red, and the red faction has the ability to pay one fewer generic game resource for a generic game action, but you aren't playing the red faction this time, then what color is the person who really is playing the red faction supposed to be on your screen?
That aside, this issue of "why can't I just be the color I want on my screen regardless of what everyone else sees" has been discussed many times as can be found by searching the forum for the word "color" and filtering for its use in the thread Title:
Premium Color Preference
Option to Set your meeple's Color
Always show a player their custom color!
Color preference not followed
(not taking the time to do the links because this issue is not interesting to me)

That's a charitable interpretation. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic nor demeaning. This quote made me think that allowing player preference to extend to asymmetric abilities was precisely what he wanted.

You're proposing that he actually wanted merely to appear as a certain color, but still get the benefits from a different color. I see how you got there, it's just not what I thought was being requested.
