Why are people conceding so much this arena season

Everyday atleast 2 games folks are conceding. I usually concede when I have to unexpectedly leave the game but people seem to be doing that when they think they will lose. Really bad play and reduces the experience for everyone

I agree that it sucks to not finish a game. Whenever I ask my opponent they tend to say “what’s the point, I’m going to lose anyway”. I then ask them if they would do that in real life. I usually don’t get an answer. The only thing you could do I guess it to put a thumbs down that you do not want to play that person. Otherwise, it’s what happens when board games are played online.

I appreciate when a person in a clearly losing position saves me from having to mash more buttons to get the inevitable win. Frees up my time for the next game or for something else. YMMV, and that's fine, but it doesn't reduce the experience for everyone.

The whining about concedes is unreal and I guess speaks to the casual playerbase. In other games conceding is normal and expected. No one ever plays out a full game of Starcraft, the gg happens way earlier.

In chess it's bad manners NOT to concede from a losing position. So I guess it's about perspective...

A win is a win, i don't need to count my points, its a lot better to end quickly a game that is only pain and suffering.

The game algorithm makes for an often times lopsided game. That lack of normal luck- which I think adds to the appeal of Wingspan-(a less skilled player can win in the board game which includes all of the cards - and the game is designed to be played with ALL of the cards- yes even the lucky ravens) makes this online version inferior.

Without luck it becomes a game of weird strategies and whoever figures those out wins the most. And those people especially hate the idea of a “loser” getting a lucky Raven or similar card. So they don’t exist online. And that gets old, so I can see why if you are losing again just concede.

For example- about “luck” in a synthesized computer game- I have not been chosen as the first player in the last 10 games. Statistically that’s crazy.

PS
You wouldn’t remove the Queens in a Chess game because they are too powerful. I wish they would just leave the game as it was originally designed even for just one Season for Arena play.

Include all of the cards and then we would see who is really a “Wingspan God”.

It would be the same people.
