Restriction on Turn Based games

I have been restricted to only eight turn based games. I couldn’t find the answer anywhere but I’m assuming that it is because I am not a premium member? Does anyone know?

It just tells me that I can’t go past eight tables, but then if I look at people that I’m playing with some of them have got over 50 tables, and as I said I’ve tried to find out why but I can only assume that it’s because I’m not premium

My guess is that it's an undocumented premium feature/limitation. I didn't immediately see anything in the FAQ and I tried to search the forums for it, but the forum search is pretty bad in that it filters out "common" words so trying to get reasonable results is sometimes impossible.

I think it has to do with how many games you have played, not with premiumship.

I don't remember where I read it before, but my understanding is every game you complete without exceeding your timer increases the maximum number of games you can be in by 1.

There is definitely restrictions on how many tables you can join while you're new/haven't played many tables, but the OP has been a member since 2023 and has played 166 games in the last 60 days (and only one quit and one time penalty, which is pretty minimal). So I wouldn't expect their number of tables to be limited. This might be a case where you need to contact BGA support and ask them - it feels like a bug with your account to me.

If there is a restriction for non premium members, it has to be a lot more than eight games.
This makes me wonder, how do things even work if such restrictions exist? I mean, if you subscribe to many tournaments and the number of games that start exceeds your restriction, what happens to those games? Do they just automatically get abandoned or what?

I did go through OPs game history, and it's possible that they have only completed 4 turn-based games, and all the rest were real-time. Looking through the forums,
someone believed that new accounts started with a limit of 4 simultaneous turn-based games, and this number increased by 1 every time you completed a turn-based game. That would be consistent with your limit of 8 right now.
