It says to "discard" to use, but how does that work? How do you discard it?

You use it like weapon. Need be in hand and attack like shooting.

Thank you, I had it in my backpack. The "discard" term threw me off.

I ran into the same thing. It kind of makes sense after you know what to do, but I was really confused at first.
