The FAQ doesn't specifically address cooperative games but is there any indications on how many wins at a game you need to the next rank. Apprentice Average, Good, Strong?

To the best of my knowledge, each coop game decides on their own how to manage it. I think many/most add the score from the game 1:1 to the Elo. Some may add +1 or some other predetermined increment if there is no score or for other reasons. Thus the Elo for coops only ever goes up and is not an indicator of skill. You may have noticed that popular coops have a lot of "masters" and "experts".

Maybe some developers or others can comment on specific examples. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Pretty sure I have seen old forum threads discuss this in general and/or for specific games, if you can wrangle the search to find them.
