Hi,

I just played a game and I think I ran into a problem.
On several occasions, I was unable to attack the zombies.
Here’s a specific example: I’m playing as Wanda, I have my 3 actions, I’m on the same square as the Abomination, and I can’t attack it. And this happened randomly throughout the entire game, regardless of the character or weapon.

Have you ever encountered this kind of problem?

Zombies have all-of-nothing hit points. What this means is that they need to be killable by a single attack to even be able to attack them. Also, unless you have the Sniper ability, you can only attack a space if you are able to kill the highest priority zombie in the square. So if you have a 1 damage weapon, you can't even attack a space containing a Brute, even if there are regular walkers there, too.

You need to have a weapon that can do 3 damage to even be able to attack the Abomination.

No problem! The rules make sense once you know them, but it isn't super-intuitive. It's just one of those things that you need to learn. Priority order used to be even more convoluted in the first edition of the board game. It's so much better now!

Priority:
Abomination (3HP) or Brute (2HP) > Walkers (1HP) > Runners (1HP)

I just looked it up and learned that the Abom and the Brutes have the same priority. I didn't know that. Although it would rarely matter, you'd need to be attacking a space with both in it with a ranged weapon that does 3 damage, which is only currently possible on BGA by using a survivor with a +1 ranged damage ability holding a 2 damage weapon.
